A Brokedown House Production

It was a hot Texas day, so the band didn't take the stage until well after sundown. The stage lights were kept down or off for much of the show so as not to cook the band, hence the darkness of the original video.

The videographers only had two 1-hour batteries, so what you see here is all that was recorded that evening.

Technically, this show shares the distinction of occurring on 'Jerry's 40th B-Day' with the following night, as most of the gig took place after midnight.

I was at that show....but as usual I remember nothing.....
I lived in Texas from 72 to 1990....Only memories I have now from Texas was the freekin heat,Moron Cowboy-wanna-be`s and that`s where my Ex is.....

Oh I can't resist. And I can't believe I remember this old George Strait ditty:

All my ex's live in Texas,
And Texas is a place I'd dearly love to be.
But all my ex's live in Texas
And that's why I hang my hat in Tennessee.

Rosanna's down in Texarcana; wanted me to push her broom,
And sweet Ilene's in Abilene; she forgot I hung the moon,
And Allison in Galveston somehow lost her sanity,
And Dimples who now lives in Temple's got the law lookin' for me.

I remember that old Frio river where I learned to swim.
And it brings to mind another time where I wore my welcome thin.
My transcendental meditation, I go there each night,
But I always come back to myself long before daylight.

Some folks think I'm hidin',
It's been rumored that I died,
But I'm alive and well in Tennessee.

Yeah, this show stood out to me with an excellent opener and good setlist...

The UJB almost has a unique classical intro from Jerry out of Space. Cool transition from UJB>Truckin'....this Truckin' is awesome. You get to see Bob hit himself in the head when he screws up some lyrics.......and then the beginnings of Dew and the fadeout....ahhhh that hurt, but still awesome!

I've been watching/listening to this one straight through today, as I get some stuff done at home. The video stays consistently bright after 'The Music Never Stopped', which is very strong, as is just about every other tune from this show.

The band sounds so healthy and powerful! This may be the best show I have heard from '82 so far. Wow!

I thought the clear cut highlight of this show was the Eyes, one of only a handful of credible performances from the 80's.Tight ensemble playing, multiple themes explored,Weir very present and interesting, fluid and crisp Jerry, all in all an excellent version.
